What the Windows release is

GapMap Research Studio is a Windows 10 and 11 desktop application for literature screening, local extraction, and evidence-gap mapping. It is a research tool, not an enterprise data platform, and independent researcher review stays part of the process.

Extraction and AI-assisted outputs

Extraction fields, summaries, and generated exports must be reviewed by the researcher. The deterministic extraction pass runs on every import; local AI-assisted extraction is an optional additional pass that requires installing a local model and can take several minutes per record on an older CPU.

Local AI-assisted extraction can accelerate structured review, but it does not remove the need for source verification. Screening decisions are made by you, not suggested by a model.

Corpus ownership

The app works with researcher-controlled exports: Scopus CSV, Web of Science plain-text or CSV, RIS, BibTeX, XLSX and generic CSV. Scopus' own plain-text export is not a supported layout — export Scopus records as CSV. Availability, licensing, and export formats from those external services remain outside GapMap Research Studio's control.

Local environment

Performance depends on the user's Windows machine, project size, file quality, and local model behaviour. Buyers should use the trial before relying on the paid workflow for a deadline-critical project.
